Sustainability
for the future
At BSI, we pride ourselves on being a foodservice industry leader in sustainable sourcing and production methods that reduces our environmental impact. From internal recycling and waste-reduction processes, to selecting suppliers with a shared belief in green initiatives, BSI is continually seeking ways to minimize the footprint we leave on the planet.
We are a Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) compliant manufacturer and adhere to stringent chain of custody and materials sourcing standards to ensure compliance. We are passionate about doing our part to replenish the most cherished of our world’s resources, as we create the conduit for our customers to replenish their guests and those they serve.
These are just a few ways BSI is making a difference:
- Our solid surface countertops and stonework fabrication facility recycles 90% of the water supply required for cutting and finishing.
- All supplied powder coats are lead-free, and when applied to our metals, do not release any harmful volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere.
- Our stainless steel supplier utilize 80%-90% stainless scrap in their melting practices. Our aluminum supplier uses 15%-50% scrap metal to produce their final products. Any unused metals, including aluminum, stainless steel and brass are separated within our facility and recycled.
- All packing materials can be reused or repurposed, including cardboard and wood. Used cardboard is separated and recycled, and wherever possible, cardboard is used in place of wood as the more sustainable option. Large counters are blanket wrapped, eliminating the need for any disposable packing materials.
