Charity is a Community Effort

April 9, 2021
Charity is a community effort, and there’s no better example of that than the collaboration between Swinerton Construction, Daltile and Colorado Custom Stone (CCS) for Hope House Colorado. Ron Horn, General Manager of CCS, was contacted by Swinerton to add their cutting and installation expertise to countertop material donated by Daltile for the renovation of Hope House’s kitchen and dining area. The CCS team jumped at the chance to help such a worthy cause and assist in creating an environment that builds community for Hope House’s residents. Located in Arvada, Colorado, Hope House is a 12-bedroom facility for teen moms that are homeless or escaping an unsafe environment. Their programming offers GED, Mentoring and Residential Programs that help the women complete their education, prepare for a career, and learn parenting and life skills to become self sufficient. The kitchen renovation was an important component to Hope House’s programming, because meal prep, healthy routines and nutrition are key life skills taught at the facility. The upgraded space now offers a more comfortable environment for residents to learn and share as they build the confidence and know-how to make a better life for themselves and their children.
